Tania Cassette – Por Tu Amor

Tania Cassette – Por Tu Amor

With Glass Spells on hiatus, Tania Cassette’s solo trajectory is becoming clearer. “Por Tu Amor” is the second piece of evidence, and it confirms the direction established by debut single “The Flame.”

Where “The Flame” introduced the nocturnal 80s smoothness - Italo early in the decade, lush pre-garage polish later - “Por Tu Amor” settles into that sound with more confidence. Retro synthesizer textures built with Kyle and Myles Mendes of NITE, Cassette’s voice sitting above them with the kind of immediate familiarity that takes years to develop. The nostalgia is intentional and controlled.

What’s interesting here is the lack of distance from Glass Spells. Two releases in, and if listening alongside Glass Spells’ material, it would be difficult to differentiate between the two projects.

Regardless of the similarties, the solo project is proving to already be enough to pay attention to.
